Made to order

Trips we’ve run

Trips from this year, told as they ran. Every one was made to order — there is no catalogue, and no figure is published for a made-to-order trip.

Guided road trip

A month on the road, golf included

A month-long guided road trip in June 2026 — golf, plus whatever else suited them, planned as one unhurried loop.

Cathedral Peak. The resort it replaced is deliberately not.

As it ran

The KwaZulu-Natal battlefields went into the plan over the guests' initial hesitation — and by the end of the month they were calling them the highlight.

When a resort we'd booked came in below the standard we hold suppliers to, they were moved the next day to Cathedral Peak — an obvious upgrade — and their offer to pay the difference was waved away.

Golf and safari

As it ran

Designed in collaboration with Maggie, an ex-professional golfer who has been to Africa with us twice before. Planning the itinerary with Maggie was fun; she has hosted her own tours to the US, NZ, Ireland, Portugal and South Africa. Our July 2026 golfing safari with Maggie featured all the highly ranked golf courses including Leopard Creek and The Links, luxurious accommodation, and high-end safari experiences. Unfortunately, Maggie couldn't join the tour, but her travel insurance covered her cancellation fee in full. The trip went ahead and was perfect in every way, except that Maggie wasn't with us. Next time!

Victoria Falls, Kruger Shalati, then KwaZulu-Natal and the Western Cape by road

As it ran

The itinerary was designed in collaboration with Rob, on behalf of his wife Jude and another couple. They thoroughly enjoyed a 3-night package to Victoria Falls and their safari experience at Kruger Shalati, The Train on the Bridge. In between, they set off on self-driving road trips through KwaZulu-Natal and the Western Cape. We contacted them every evening and every morning to ensure they were secure and on track. Rob singled out two of the stays as memorable: Fugitives’ Drift and Cheetah Ridge.
